Dr. Shah is a native Texan and grew up in the DFW area. After graduating from high
school with honors she obtained her degree in biology from Austin College. During her
undergraduate studies she developed a wide range of interests including obtaining a
minor in art and took a non-traditional path to medical training. Initially after college
Dr. Shah started off volunteering and working at a non-profit law firm in downtown Dallas
with acceptance to law school. However, she realized her true passion was in medicine
and re-routed career plans attending medical school in West Virginia focusing on rural
underserved communities and international medicine. She completed her residency
training in family medicine at the Oklahoma State University Health Sciences in Tulsa,
Oklahoma where she found a passion for acute medicine.
She lived in Tulsa for several years working as a hospitalist, associate medical director across several hospitals in the
Tulsa area, ER doctor within the Indian Health services system, and a wellness clinic
medical director. Dr. Shah moved back to the DFW area with a transition to outpatient. She enjoys spending her spare time with family and friends, savoring a good cup of coffee, biking, kayaking, recently pickleball, and continues international medicine
interests recently working with an indigenous clinic in New Zealand. Dr. Shah is honored
and excited to be a part of your health journey here at Onsite MD.
